I am searching for an existing GPL or OS script that allows two people to create, edit, annotate, and store a simple html-style document in a folder system online.

Scenario: Jeff logs on,  sees a list of docs with "subjects" and dates (think email messages in a folder).  Opens one and when he writes, it's in a blue font -- or annotated with his name and the date.  He saves his changes, and logs off.  Jennifer logs on later in the day,  sees that the doc has been updated, opens it and when she writes, her text is in green and annotated with her name and the date.

An email client has most of the features I need (picture two people simply editing draft messages in the draft folder.), but I don't need all the other email-specific features.  I just want a secure login with the ability for two to edit in the same document.

Collaboration environments have way too much too.

Code it up from scratch? Start with an existing system and strip away all the unneeded stuff? Ideas?

Thanks!
