[SOLVED] If statement help

I have this:

 

You currently have <?php echo $row['quant'] ;?> stocks in <?php echo $rows['stock_name']; ?> available to sell. The current selling price is $<?php echo $rows['t_val'];?> each.<br>

Please select how many of these stocks you wish to sell.

Which is meant to display the form if the amount of stocks held are between 1 and 5, however it displays regardless of the amount of stocks held! Whats going on?!

Remove the ; from the end of the if statement, i.e.:

 

if ($q > '0' && $q < '6');

 

Also, have you correctly defined $q?  For example:

 

$q = $row['quant'];

 

Your code currently does not show it being defined but that may be because you did not include that part of the code here.

also remove the quotes around numbers. It's changing it to a string then back to an integer to compare it.  Just leave it as an integer by getting rid of the quotes.
