[SOLVED] #1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

Yes i am a Newbie;

I"m sure this has been asked a million + times and i apologize for asking again.

I get this error; #1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

i searched the error many times on different sites and really haven't got an answer that works for me.

when i use phpmyadmin to connect to mysql i get this error. if i need to put the user name/password in one of the php config files; which one and where?
