Simple Image Uploader

I have done a few simple websites for some clients. I would like to be able to provide a photo gallery of some sort that would be extremely easy for a novice site owner to upload and display images. And I mean easy. I was thinking about something like, when they are looking at their photo page, they would have a login link that would pop up an "upload image" box where they could browse to a file and click upload and it would resize and dump the file into a directory on the server, then some kind of basic gallery script that would automatically grab these images and display them. It would be nice if there was also a way they could easily delete them.
