PHP Mailer

Hi,

Im just wondering if anybody can give me advice on mass mailing, and how I should go about executing it? I was thinking of using campaign monitor but I have 1000+ emails and it works out at just under 1400$, I was wondering if theres a php script or I can write a bespoke one, Also, If I was to input the data into a table on my db would it be sufficient enough to just have salutations and email address'?

Thanks in advance, Liam

the biggest problem with mailing lists is your IP being blacklisted as spam.

For this very reason, unless you want to spend a lot of time and resources resolving spam issues, its best to use a third party mailing company - because they DO spend the time and resources trying to prevent being blacklisted.

But if you do decide to write your own script, a salutation and an email should be enough.

Cool, Thanks for the help Virvo, Ive installed phplist, our database of names are all previous customers of ours and theyve received emails in the past and bought from us so we're hoping we dont get marked as spam, weve also configured our reverse dns (From what I've been reading seemed to be quite important); Thanks again  ;)
