rajivgonsalves
you need to install a server I would suggest XAMPP its pretty good http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html once you install it you will be able to run php files, I don't know why Php designer is not working as I have personally never use it Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/186246-response-to-rajiv/#findComment-983794 Share on other sites
Quantum1982
Ok thanks. This program is very good, makes things a lot easier. Although now I suspect I might have a problem with absolute and relative paths. ( although I did relocate the files to the root directory, so maybe I am just imagining things ? ) I am going to try php now. Here are some more screens. Thanks for all the help so far Cheers [attachment deleted by admin] Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/186246-response-to-rajiv/#findComment-984169 Share on other sites
rajivgonsalves
your mysql should start automatically on windows start, if you configured it properly, for php you'll have to find htdocs in your apache folder and put the files there. rajivgonsalves
that means you have not set up php properly please uninstall XAMPP and reinstall it, I also recommend that you set it up in c:\xampp Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/186246-response-to-rajiv/#findComment-984516 Share on other sites
Quantum1982
Ok thanks. First of all I cannot even see XAMP in the Add or REmove programs dialog box. I tried o removed it manually and installed it in the root directory after following the instructions carefully. I also still cannot get a.php file to run. One radical solution I can think of is to give you access to my computer via remote assistance. I trust that you won't do anything malicious to my computer, as I will be watching you anway. What do you say about this ? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/186246-response-to-rajiv/#findComment-987044 Share on other sites
