Hi,

I recently downloaded and installed this script: http://www.phpfastnews.com/ however it does not show the right time on it as my server is in USA and I am in the U.K., how do I modify the php code to show the correct timezone in my country of the U.K.?

if your using php date/time functions date_default_timezone_set

if your using mysql date/time functions:

putenv('TZ=EST5EDT');

use both if unsure/using both

Here is the code in my script in relation to time, I believe using logic this gets the time from my web server at the min which I do not want to do:

however I do not think this would work by me changing the code above, I am not very good with PHP in all honesty, I know that the script does not use MYSQL.

Overall what exact thing would I have to change in the first bit of code out of my script above to change the time to my local time in the U.K.?

than use the date_default_timezone functions.

to just affect that one function U wud do something like

function addItem( $item ){
                $oldtz=date_default_timezone_get();
                date_default_timezone_set  ('Etc/GMT-8');
//		$date = date( "j M Y H:i", time() );
	$date = date( "j M Y g:i a", time() );
                date_default_timezone_set  ($oldtz);

	$this->news[] = $item;
	}

but to affect your whole script, place date_default_timezone_set at the beginning of your script

Thanks for the reply there, however this bit of code did not work upon me replacing it exactly in the script, here is the full script as I now believe something else is stopping this from working successfully?

Also in that code you gave me I replaced the time zone as per this website: http://www.php.net/manual/en/timezones.europe.php with the line of: Europe/London

Can anyone please help me with this? I would ever so much appericiate it, or I can even pay you to program a php script for me that does a similar thing with working time zone?
