I want to make vertical drop down menu

I want to make sliding vertical drop down menu (not poppoing out) can anyone give me a code ? I thought it would be achieved with css but no luck. Pls help.

well, why would i need database connection ? would it not accompolished by javascript ? i have a list vertical menu but i need someway to drop down but not pop out thanks.
