schilly
I'm in the middle a revamping a newsletter system which is fairly old. I was just wondering if there is any essential mime headers that should always be set. Here is the headers of one of our current newsletters: Return-Path: Delivered-To: Received: Date: To: Subject: From: Reply-To: MIME-Version: X-Sender: X-Priority: Message-ID: X-Mailer: Any others I should add in? thx. jtgraphic
That looks pretty inclusive - actually it's a bit more than the average. I tend to only do five headers: Date: To: Subject: From: Reply-To: That of course depends on the importance of the message. As a general rule, more headers (that are relevant) tend to do better with spam filters... schilly
yea I think some of those were added by the mail server. Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/189492-essential-email-headers/#findComment-1000221 Share on other sites
jtgraphic
That does happen a lot, depending on what you're using for sending mail. In general I think you'll be ok though.
