PHPBB critical error query (resolved)

Hello - a newbie here wondering if you can help me.

I'm running a phpbb forum from my website www.ukulelecosmos.com

When I tried to access the forum this morning I got this message:

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database[/i]

I have requested help from phpbb support and they say I've hit my connection limits with my host.  I have checked my account and have plenty of bandwidth left for this month (excuse me - I'm a bit clueless so this fact might not actually have any bearing on the problem).  I have emailed the hosts telling them this and am awaiting a response from them. 

Does anyone have any other suggestions for this error message?  Like I said, I'm not that good at all this stuff.
