I have a field called StudentName in my database. This stores names like so First Last

I want to have the option of ordering my results to my queries by last name. Is this possible without doing one of the following: (Loading into a php array before I sort, Changing the way the db is setup)

the simplest way would be to simply have two seperate columns for first name and last name. that will be much more efficient than any algorithm you would have to create to sort it

Didn't want to do that because of the way that the system is set up already >< If this is the only real option tho I might have to go with it.
