If you check this site

http://www.languageschoolsuk.com/index.php

at the top of the page there is a search box, i want the input fields to allign to the left of the other one, so it sits on one line, can anyone point me in the right direction

You could use something this simple:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
<style type="text/css">
input {
display: inline;
float: left;
}
label {
display:inline;
float: left;
padding: 0 10px;
}
</style>
</head>

<body>
<form action="" method="post">
<label for="name">Name</label><input name="text1" type="text" size="10"/><label for="middle">Middle:</label><input name="text2" type="text" size="10" /><label for="last">Last:</label><input name="text3" type="text" size="10"/>
</form>
</body>
</html>
