Greasechef
Hi everyone, I am a novice PHP programmer. I have supported my family by working online for the past two years. My main source of income comes from promoting websites. Many of the projects that I do require simple but very specialized code. I regularly hear that things can't be done, so I spend hours copying and pasting bits of code until I have badly written but functional scripts that get the job done. Lately I have been spending 12+ hours a day modifying Wordpress to do some things that there are no plugins for. I know that a real programmer could have had it all done in a couple of hours, but I feel that it is time for me to learn how to do these things myself. I've got a very cool website that I paid to develop, but none of the programmers understand exactly how one function needs to work. It's incredibly simple in its logic, but everyone who touches it wants to complicate things. Once I get grounded in PHP by tweaking Wordpress, I plan on finishing the code on my other system myself. I am, however, looking for a tutor that is willing to give me some direction and put working examples of certain commands on my server so that I can figure out for myself how to use them.
