problem with textarea submission

I am trying to submit data through a text area via jquery, i can send text fine but am adding images to the textarea with

 

$('#txt_input').html($('#txt_input').val()+"<?php echo $val; ?>");

 

with $val being an image URL

 

The image is loading into the textarea but is not being submitted.

 

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

I'm new myself, but I believe pictures have to be sent as base64

I have the pictures loading into the textarea in ie, they're not showing in the textarea in firefox but show when submitted, the problem i am having now is in firefox its not letting you submit text.

I am using the html tag as their are images in the field, any suggestions are much appreciated
