Life coaching website

Hi peeps,

Well, I made a website for someone who established a life coaching business about two years back and I thought that I'd use a little innovation to make it look more, well, better.

Site: www.ipecad.co.za

I've tried to make it as cross-browser compliant as possible, since most people in the targeted country still use IE.

I would like any comments on it, even if it's bad.

I'm not a fan of the navigation bar. I think plain text would have done better (aligned to the right).

Something like the nav bar here: http://www.art-design.umich.edu/

I feel like you're trying to use too many rounded corners, and lastly, I think the colors could use a change.

Maybe change the background to a lighter, less harsh color and maybe change the font color to #333.

I've tried to do a bit to the navigation, I don't really want to remove the whole image button effect so I'me just using a background image with text on top.

The background colour - I've tried my best to lighten up the whole effect.

I don't quite think it's quite there yet, so any suggestions on a colour would be appreciated.

I've also removed the bottom navigation, as I think it's irrelevant.

The rounded corners at the top didn't really fit in with the whole layout, so I removed those as well.

Anything else anyone would like to critique?

the colors look much better as do the links, there appears to be one error in your layout though ( see image)

You should have the white background extend to the end of the bar. It also looks kinda funny at the bottom. You can really tell its off because of the right bar at the bottom.

also lots of html errors

and css errors

I've tried my best to validate the header and footer parts, to some avail. I had to change the doctype to HTML Traditional so that I get a 100% validation.

The CSS validation can fail, I've tried my best with it, but some thins in the style sheet is required for cross-browser compatibility.

And about the bar extending further than it's supposed to, I don't see anything that could be causing that.

I don't really have the time to rewrite the whole template, again. But it doesn't really bother me, as long as it's generally the same in all browsers, I'm quite ok with it.

Edit: thinking of it now, I've tested the site with Chrome, IE and Firefox under Windows and Chrome and Firefox under Ubuntu and everything is fine. What are you using to get that result of the bar extending over the set width?

Thanks for the help so var.
