PHP 5.2.13 on IIS 5.1 - Cant get php pages to display in browser

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

i expect this questions is asked by all php newbies but here it goes again....

I'm trying to install php on my dev machine, windows xp pro. i also have coldfusion installed on this machine.

i have php installed as IIS FastCGI and i have followed the instructions found here:

http://uk3.php.net/manual/en/install.windows.installer.msi.php

i have created a folder here:

C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\testsite

and within the test site dir i have created test.php with this on the page:

<html>

<head>

<title>My First PHP Page</title>

</head>

<body>

<?php

echo "Hello World!";

?>

</body>

</html>

but when i view http://localhost/testsite/test.php all i get is the page cannot be displyed. Ive checked the .php is listed as an extention in IIS. what else can i try?

thanks

zac
