date format

Hello i want to be able to insert from a form into a date format, i can get this to work great but i need to format it as Month-Day-YYYY

 

below is the code and the comment shows which table row is for date, any help on how to format this field would be great.  thanks in advance for all help given.

What is a data type of date field.

the data type is set as date, the default value is yyyy-mm-dd but i need it to be shown as Month day Year

(such as July 3 2010)

It will be easy it you use MySQL date format function in your query like this

 

SELECT DATE_FORMAT(DATEFEILD,"%M %e %Y")  as dt from TABLENAME
