Hi everybody,

when i change my stylesheets they are not updated. This problem happens in both firefox and chrome (only browsers i tested).

Even if the real file is updated when i try to open it from a browser (eg. localhost/style.css) it always shows the old file.

I tried all these solutions:

  • refresh
  • hard-refresh
  • clear browser chache
  • write "localhost/style.css?blahblahblah"
  • restart apache

nothing works, it always shows me the old, unapdated css.

The only workaround i found is this:

  • I rename the css file and then try to open a webpage that uses that css (the page is all messed up)
  • I rename it back to the original name
  • now if i load the page in any browser it loads the page with the updated stylesheet (yay  :D )

I think the problem cannot be the browser's cache, i think it's apache.

What can i do? It's really annoying if I have to rename, reload, rename every time I make a small change to the css.

PS: OPTIONAL: ( I don't think this is relevant but anyway I'm using windows vista and I'm running the apache server in a linux virtual machine. All the web pages are in a shared folder, i update all the files from windows and use linux just to test the website)
