This is my query:

$query = "SELECT * FROM my_network LEFT JOIN preferences ON my_network.add_username = preferences.username WHERE my_network.username='$username' AND preferences.mail_on_new_deepshare_by_my_network='Y'";

But it is not giving me what I am looking for, which is all rows where the username field in the my_network table is $username and the mail_on_new_deepshare_by_my_network field in the preferences table for that username is Y.  For reasons too long to go in to here, the add_username field in the my_network table is the username field in the preferences table.

Any ideas on where I am going wrong?

Cheers.

Julian
