Setting a ROOT directory

Hi all

I wonder if anyone can tell me how to set the ROOT folder for my entire site?

My site is running locally and is at the URL

http://localhost/Site 233/www/

and I need to set that as the ROOT folder for the site.

Only because when I use links such as

<a href="/contact.php">contact</a>

it set that URL as

http://localhost/contact.php

and I need it to be

http://localhost/Site 233/www/contact.php

thanks

ed

Create a file like parameter.php:

<?php
$root = 'http://localhost/www/';
$images = $root.'images/';
?>

Now include it in your main script and call it like:

<a href="<?php echo $root?>contact.php">contact</a>

It will ease you for live site later. You can make variables for all directories. Later if you want to change any directory name, you have to change it in one file. Also will help you in live server.

Good luck
