andromeda05 Posted April 3, 2010 Share Posted April 3, 2010 Hi just started moving my site for a static html to a wordpress. I'm new to php and have edited most of what I needed so far. However I have been stumped with one section of coding and am having trouble with. On the main menu bar on the template it is organised alphabetically I need it to be organised either by date or my design some function that I can manipulate to the order I need. I think I found the code that I need to change if its not this I can pull the correct code. For reference this was the InBerlin theme. Thankyou everyone for the help in advanced Links www.armstrongcomputerrepair.com/test code: <?php get_header(); ?> <div id="content"> <div id="content-left"> <?php if (have_posts()) : ?> <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?> <div class="box-left" id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>"> <h3><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" rel="bookmark" title="<?php the_title(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h3> <?php the_content(); ?> <?php wp_link_pages('before=<div class="nav_link">&after=</div>&next_or_number=number&pagelink=<span class="page_number">%</span>'); ?> <div class="clear"></div> <?php comments_template(); ?> </div> <?php endwhile; ?> <?php else : ?> <div class="box-left" id="searchform"> <h3>Not found!</h3> <p><?php _e('Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.'); ?></p> <?php include (TEMPLATEPATH . "/searchform.php"); ?> </div> <?php endif; ?> </div><!-- end content-left --> <?php get_sidebar(); ?> <div class="clear"></div> </div><!-- end content --> <?php get_footer(); ?> Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/197495-need-some-help-with-my-site/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
sKunKbad Posted April 4, 2010 Share Posted April 4, 2010 You shouldn't need to know any code to make a Wordpress menu appear in a certain order. In the admin area for each page is a place where you can set the order of the pages. 0 for left, 1 for the next, 2 for the one after that, and so on... jmajeremy Posted April 4, 2010 Share Posted April 4, 2010 This is just the main page structure. You would have to find the function that displays all the postings. Probably the_post() or the_content(). It may be as simple as changing a MySQL query from "SORT BY date" to "SORT BY title".
