Problem building table

Hi,

Hope you are all well!!

I'm having a bit of trouble creating an HTML table with some abnormal formatting.

I've attached a print screen of the kind of thing I want.

I'm not asking anyone to format it for me, but if you could offer any advice on a way to do it, it would be greatly appreciated!

Many Thanks,

-Simon

Why use a table? it would be just as easy and more semantic to use div's.

Here is what you're after though...

<table>
    <tr>
        <td>1</td>
        <td>2</td>
        <td rowspan="2">3</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
        <td colspan="2">4</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
        <td colspan="3">5</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
        <td>6</td>
        <td>7</td>
        <td>8</td>
    </tr>
</table>

wow that felt dirty, I have not used rowspan for years...
