I'm terrible at REGEX and really could use some tutorials... so forgive me but...

Simple deal here.

I have the following string:

Date and Time: Apr 26 2010 9:09AM

I want to split that on the FIRST : I find. When I do a standard split( ":"...) of course it splits the time stamp as well.

What would be an easy way to accomplish this?

You could use the explode function which has a handy $limit parameter to limit the returned array to a maximum of $limit values.

E.g. To get the two pieces that you want, you could do:

$parts = explode(":", "Date and Time: Apr 26 2010 9:09AM", 2);
print_r($parts);
