Add text to image

i've been using this code for months now, thanks to Crayon Violent, i edited it to fit my needs

anyways, i'm trying to add black text to this image (check attachment) but no luck.... i discovered that i need to trim the length of the image down in order for the font color to change to black 

 

i'm using this to get the image with the added text

any ideas how to fix this without cutting the image??

i've fixed it, turns out i needed to fill all the image cause there were some transparent background 

the attachment show the difference between the images
