innerHTML issue

suddenly my script has stopped worked, and after 400 alert() test later, i've found the line that doesn't work and stops the script:

container.innerHTML = "Verifying... <br><a href='#'>Testing 1 2 3</a>";

 

 

this is the whole script before it..not much. It stops after it alerts me that container created... and doesn't alert me innerHTML set

alert('in');
var _container = document.getElementById('TriquiWidgetContainer');
alert('container created.');
_container.innerHTML = "Verifying... <br><a href='#'>Testing 1 2 3</a>";
alert('innerHTML set');

 

Whats the problem? I'm at a loss of words here.

AND, btw, i know that DIV with that exact ID exists on the page...

that was frustrating..

 

turns out i called the <script> tag before the div was set
