shane18
http://www.oddim.com/ See how on FF and some versions of IE all 3 boxes are lined up? well in google chrome and some versions of IE the middle one is higher than the rest... is this my fault or their fault? shane18
does anyone know why this is not displaying right in every browser? is it my fault or are they just not following the standards?? haku
You will find things much easier if you take the time to learn floats and how they work: http://css.maxdesign.com.au/floatutorial/ The problem is that IE won't apply inline-block to elements that are block level elements. You are using divs, which are block level elements, and therefore your rules are ignored. Floats are much easier to work for cross-browser compatibility. shane18
so technically... my code is correct.. IE just fails at standards? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/204447-alignment/#findComment-1072795 Share on other sites
haku
I guess that would depend on how you define correct I guess. If you define it as 'code that works across all browsers', then no, it's not. But yes, IE doesn't meet the standards. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/204447-alignment/#findComment-1072802 Share on other sites
shane18
if i base correctness off the standards.. then my code is correct and IE just fails like always right? lol Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/204447-alignment/#findComment-1072822 Share on other sites
haku
If you base it off the standards, yes. But it's a moot point if you want people to see your site the way you mean for it to be seen.
