Mercury Not Work On Xampp 1.7.3 (Latest Versions)

Hi, I have recently installed Xampp 1.7.3 on a Windows XP machine inorder to test out my scripts, I'm having difficulty setting up Mercury so my scripts can send out email locally.

 

I have started Mercury, and have setup a user account, but when I attempt to connect to the mail server using Thunderbird, it doesn't seem to want to connect.

 

I am running Xampp/Mercury on Windows XP, and have changed the hosts file so that 127.0.0.1 becomes localhost.com.

 

Is there anything else I need to do to get it working? In previous versions of Xampp I remember I hardly had to do anything.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need more info, please let me know.
