RIRedinPA Posted July 1, 2010 Share Posted July 1, 2010 I'm trying to update an address book type database and what I want to do is add a record if the name field does not contain the name I am adding... something like this: INSERT INTO addressBook (id, name, title, phone, email) VALUES ('', 'skippy jones', 'redundant repeater', '555-555-1212', '[email protected]') WHERE NOT EXISTS (SELECT * FROM addressBook WHERE name = 'skippy jones') I get errors with this...
