POST select box and get certain option

i have this select box in a form

on the page where the form directs to i have

 

$options = $_POST['theoptions'];

 

I want to get option 5 specificially, how do i do that?

the variable $options will contain whatever was selected on the form. If you want $options to be specifically option 5, all I can suggest is change:

$options = $_POST['theoptions'];

to

$options = 5
