include files not being included

I have obviouslt done something wrong for I get the following errors/warnings when running a simple script:-

this from the code :-

Please tell me what I have done wrong.

This with Apache2 on Ubuntu 10.4 and php 5.3.

Does your webserver have read access to the include directory and the specific file. The "Permission Denied" would suggest that there is a permission error, not a filepath error.

An example in this folder is:-

-rw-r--r-- 1 alf alf    20 2005-03-30 10:36 info.php

 

which as far as I know should be adequate?
