I'm using Windows XP Pro, running IIS, mysql, php and Dreamweaver. I'm trying to connect to a mysql database. I haven't changed the password. It's still set at root and no password. I know this isn't secure, but I'm just testing and I'm on a standalone machine.

In Windows, I'm able to connect to and use the database in MySQL adminsitrator and I'm, able to add to, update and delete from the database no problem. So I know this part of Windows is allowing me to access mysql.

However, when I try to hook up to the database using IIS, I get an HTTP 500 internal server error for some reason.

When I try to connect using either asp or coldfusion I do get this error. As a matter of fact it works fine.

Any idea why this is or how I can fix this.
