phpSensei
Hello. In my quest to finally find the right answers to what I want to accomplish, I want to get your opinions. Please try and put yourselves in someone else's shoes, someone who is starting a big website with a large amount of traffic from users who use the site everyday. I know traffic is always Cumbersome to the server which arises problems such as bandwith usage/scalibility. Also programmers here arent always the Omniscient we make them out to be (no offense), because theres always someone out there who will find a way to hack the system, so theres really no way of being too careful. So, I would like your opinions on the following things: Servers you will be using. Frameworks/Paradigm/Design Pattern..etc Storing user sessions, data, fragile infomation Any recommended outside open source scripts? What languages other than PHP will you include? How will you handle the traffic basically and scalibility issues... I have always gone out of my way to find the best solutions to everyday problems we have with our coding. Whats faster? Whats more secure? What this..what that... I can go on forever. But lets say you are running a large site like Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare. I have already gotten great advice from the users here, but I would like to get deeper into this subject.
