Meta redirect - time

Just wondering,

When I use:

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="3; URL=index.php">

So 5 secons is ok I guess...

I have a new problem. When I use the meta refresh in the head, only 1 page keeps refreshing every 5 seconds.

So I tried some php header functions to no avail. Then I went back to the meta tag and in the page it loads, buynow.php, I added stop();

Same problem.

Is there a way to stop the page from refreshing?

What if some user is using dial-up :wtf:? will 3 seconds be enough?
