Absolutely stuck, desperate!

Hi all, I know this is my first post so please go easy I'm still learning PHP.

Basically, I keep getting 'SQL Selection error: Unknown database 'localhost'

I have tried a basic 'insert' and 'search' and both attempts return this error.

I just dont get it! I am unimaginable grateful for any assistance here.

For what I see openDB should be:

        $this->conn = mysql_connect(DB_HOST, DB_USER, DB_PASSWORD);
        if (!$this->conn) {
            die("SQL Connection error: " . mysql_error());
        }
        $db_selected = mysql_select_db(DB_NAME, $this->conn);
        if (!$db_selected) {
            die("SQL Selection error: " . mysql_error());
        }
