retaining combo box value

Hi,

I am developing a web application using PHP and MySQL. I am filling my combobox with the value fetched from the MySQL database. I want to retain the selected value of the combo box in postback. I am able to do it with the statiic values. But in this case I am binding the combbox  dynamically with the values from the database. Can anybody please help me?

So if I'm understanding properly, you would do something like this:

 

<form method="post" action="yourPage.php">

<select name="comboBox">

<?php while($row = mysql_fetch_array($myQuery)) { ?>

<option <?php if($_REQUEST['comboBox'] == $row['field']) echo "selected" ?> ><?php echo $row['field']; ?></option>

<?php } ?>

</select>

<input type="submit">

</form>
