I have php5 going on my Ubuntu webserver.  I have installed Apache2, PHP5 and MYSQL5.  The problem is php only works in the root folder and can only run phpinfo();.  If I try other php files I get a error 500.  I have reinstalled the entire box and still the same problem.  I know it is something simple in a config that I am missing.  Any help would be appriciated.
