ttocskcaj
OK so I just updated to XAMPP 1.7.5 (MySQL 5.5. now whenever I try and start the MySQL service from the XAMPP control panel, it says its started instantly. But it hasn't... Windows service manager says "Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly" When I try and use XAMPP's mysql_start.bat it fails, But I'm still not getting a proper error anywhere? Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/226289-mysql-service-wont-start/ Share on other sites

ttocskcaj
Moved mysql data files and reinstalled. Moved mysql data files back except for mysql. Supposedly in the new version of mysql the table mysql is different so to upgrade you need to delete the old one.
