I have errors in the server log that keeps appearing and I don't know why.

[Wed Feb 23 21:45:12 2011] [error] [client 93.186.23.237] File does not exist: /home/sites/domain.co.uk/public_html/somestuff

I am using mod_rewrite for my urls and it works ok. Visiting any page on the site works correctly and no errors appear in the logs. It only seems to be some IP addresses that have the problem (maybe robots) and are causing the "File does not exist" error. Out of 7000 page views a day I get about 5-10 errors.

Can robots check for the existence of a directory? The address redirects to a php file so no directory actually exists with that name.

Anyone know why this might be happening?
