Really its not that bad.

But I keep getting an error that I don't understand.

Help would be appreciated.

if($pm['read'] == "0"){

$sql = "UPDATE pm SET read = '1' WHERE id = '$inbox_id'";

if ( mysql_query($sql) ) {} else {

  echo("<P>Error!! " .

      mysql_error() . "</P>");

}

}

Error message:

Error!! You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'read = '1' WHERE id = '15'' at line 1

I guess I just don't really understand the problem.

It's been working everywhere else. But doesnt seem to want to work here.

Help?

Thanks in advance

Sorry about the rookie mistake not reading the Guidelines.

MySQL Version: 5.0.77

MySQL Code: UPDATE pm SET read = '1' WHERE id = '15'

MySQL Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'read = '1' WHERE id = '15'' at line 1

Intended to update the variable from 0 to 1.

I have attempted to change the syntax around a bit, contact mysql manual for my version.

Still no luck.

Hope this is some help.
