Carrying Items Between PHP files

Hi,

 

I'm having trouble carrying items between two files. The problem is that it works too well. Whenever I include a php file that echos something, the other php files echos the same thing. What are some ways to stop this, but still have access to the variable.

Including a php file into another is essnetially extending the files into one large file. So if you echo or print out the variable with both files independantly then by including them together will get them to both echo out where they would within each file indepenantly
