Bl4ckMaj1k
Hello All!!! How would one go about figuring out the cost of a system? For example....if I am making a project management system which can have, lets say, 100,000 staff and 500,000 customers. What type of system would I need to run this thing smoothly? What are costs per user? How do you calculate the needed bandwidth per each individual user. As of now, my queries are running very fast, very smooth...but I fear as the system gets popular and more and more users begin to take advantage, things will eventually slow down. I want to work in my costs now so I know what I need per user. I don't know if this is something people normally ask, but I am lost when it comes to figuring this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! Bl4ck Maj1k
xylex
You need some starting numbers to do any kind of load calculations. Do you know anything about the peak load estimates or daily usage? If you really don't have any numbers to start with, the method described here is about as accurate as anything else - http://bit.ly/gBtTCu
