install mysql 5.5

hello friends,

 

I want to install mysql 5.5

when I was surfing the net i came across mysql community server

shall i download that one

i am just a biginner & i want to learn because later i will have to do database testing

so plz guide me

well actually yes

what happened exactly is first i downloaded mysql 5.5 with pwd was working successfully

den i wanted 2 learn php so downloaded easyphp

after that i was trying to access phpmyadmin bt was not able to access it as pwd of phpmyadmin was blank so i had to change mysql pwd to blank & i tried many time bt it didnt work

the next day it started workingbut again the next day it stopped working both mysql & easyphp

then i uninstalled both & again tried to install mysql & easyphp separately bt nw its showing error

today i removed mysql completely dowloaded the setup & ran on my pc bt nw its showing error so nw nt at all able to install

plz help me

For the all in one packages, they include everything.  I know you have posted other threads about this.  You can either install apache/php/mysql seperately and configure them to work together or you can do an all in one install.  You can't start mixing the two. 

 

Make sure you have no apache, php or mysql installed.  It would probably be a good idea at this point to run a registry cleaner.  A great free one is ccleaner.  Run that in registry fix mode and let it clean out any crap you have accumulated.  REBOOT.

 

Then try installing xamp :  http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html

i m gettin this error after installation of easyphp : "windows cant access specified device, path or file.you may not hav appropriate permission to access them"

actuall i installed n uninstalled many time this s/w & mysql so m getting this error

how to get rid of it

I just told you what to do.  If you're not going to follow my instructions you're on your own.  I never said to just go install easyphp again, and you were also told not to install mysql seperately since easyphp comes with mysql bundled.
