Well, this is mostly impossible on a third party hosted situation (unless the host grants you access to the mail server's mailbox folder for your account).

You would need a script running via CRON (or something similiar) that would check for any new files in the mailbox and assuming you could read the file with PHP then it would be possible to make an automated reaction to an email.

If you have web mail that is PHP friendly (like Horde or Squirrle) then it may be a little simpler but still not a walk in the park.

I would look back to the reason WHY you need to take a programmitc reaction to the email and see if you can avoid the need for the email altogether.

Unless of course this is "just to see if you can", in which case I cannort help you.
