sweetlew
I've got PHP4/MySql installed and using Dreamweaver MX to do some dynamic PHP pages. I'm having a problem when I hit the F12 key to view the page, it says I don't have permission to read the temp file DW is creating. I'm using FTP to transfer files from my XP machine to my Ubuntu linux box in DW. I've created and successfully connected using the testing server options. I've also tried changing the owner/group of the directory but to no avail. What is going on with my permissions and why can't I preview pages? I know DW writes the temp file in my website directory but with only these permissions -r------. I sure this is where the problem is but I can't seem to get DW to properly write the permissions. Is it something in my FTP setup? Please help. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/2446-cant-preview-pages/ Share on other sites
dmarchman
did you try disabling Preview using temporary file in the DW preferences under the Preview in Browser category and try to preview the page itself. sometimes dreamweaver does some stupid things with those temp files, like saving them to your site folder.
