Using SESSION variable in jquery function

Hi all,

Very new to Ajax so please go easy on me  ;D

I have a function

$(document).ready(function() {
   var refreshId = setInterval(function() {
      $("#autoRefreshBattingDisplay").load('borders/right.php');
   }, 2000);
   $.ajaxSetup({ cache: false });
});

which is called via the following line

 <div class="rightSide" id="autoRefreshBattingDisplay"><?php require("borders/right.php"); ?></div>

When the page first loads up everything is fine, but the first time (and every subsequent time) it refreshes it tells me that there is no SESSION data. Is there a way of reading SESSION data in Javascipt?

The other trick i tried is to put

$("#autoRefreshBattingDisplay").load('borders/right.php?gameNo=$var');

in the function but i don't know how to put a PHP variable into a javascript function, note that it is only one variable that I need to be able to use.
