Hi, why doesn't change the image height after I click the button?

<html>

<head>

<script type="text/javascript">

function addBorder()

{

document.getElementById("html5_logo.jpg").style='height:500px';

}

</script>

</head>

<body>

<img id="html5" src="html5_logo.jpg" alt="html5" width="107" height="98" />

<br /><br />

<input type="button" onclick="addBorder()" value="Up the height" />

</body>

</html>

Any help appreciated.

First add doc type to your html. This is important!

two What is the ID of the image? It's not getElementById("html5_logo.jpg") The ID is <img id="html5".

last when you change a style you have to say what style your changing.

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function addBorder()
{
document.getElementById("html5").style.height='500px';
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<img id="html5" src="html5_logo.jpg" alt="html5" width="107" height="98" style="border:red solid 1px;" />
<br /><br />
<input type="button" onclick="addBorder()" value="Up the height" />
</body>
</html>
