adding a line to a table

I am trying to add a line to a table (actually a shopping cart) at the moment there is a box around the word Checkout and the lines are too close.

I've tried adding in a line using <tr> at the beginning and then </tr> at the end but am having no luck 

I am completely new to any kind of coding what so ever so i'm sorry if it is a dumb question.

 

At the moment the coding round the checkout is:
