why does the background have to be the same for the jquery datepicker and tabs

why does the background have to be the same for the jquery datepicker and tabs? And why do the non selected tabs of the jquery tabs have to be the same as the non selected days of the datepicker?

 

and I can't get the link text color to change for the jquery tabs.

edit the CSS.

I did and it changes both of them. I can't customize it individually for the tabs and the datepicker.

it's a plugin basically you can tweak it however you want, add your own classes etc.

make a different class for tabs and modify the plugin
