getting info from one folder to another

on my ftp server i have set up my index file and i few others for other pages or scripts.. i also have an images folder and other folders for other big individual sections but the thing is it keeps messing up when i use the same code on the script in the separate folders. so what i did was use the full url instead and once i replaced each part (mostly for images and include files) the page came up all messed up.. like the tables are all mixed up or something and for some reason the ad that goes across for my free hosting tripled.. lol whats up with this??
