Ajax and PhP question!

Hello there !

 

I'm very new to coding, and quite frankly, I'm not very good at it However, I like to mess around with it anyway.

I followed this tutorial : http://www.w3schools.com/php/php_ajax_poll.asp - On how to make a simple poll, but something goes wrong. I get the poll to show up, but when I press the yes or no option, nothing what so ever happens.

I've pretty much copy pasted the code, and I suppose something is wrong with the getVote() function, I simply can't figure out what.

Maybe I've done something wrong with the .php, with the syntax or something. I wanted to make sure that there is nothing wrong with the code in the tutorial,

which is where you guys came in

 

I realise this is a very wide question, but again, I'm not very good at this

Hopefully some of you smart guys can help me out! I'd certainly appreciate it.
